Hi I’m Flaire!
As an artist and designer, I am drawn to materiality, the body, and how connection can be crafted. I bring technical skills and collaborative insight into the realms of private spaces and public arts. I have years of experience in a range of hands-on-making, combined with a desire to explore how creativity in community can build a more equitable and vibrant world.
This drive often takes form in multifunctional solutions for shared creative spaces, home goods and furniture, and large scale public arts. Believing that strong relationships with our bodies, beauty in everyday spaces, and places to be in communication with others can foster resiliency and interdependence. I draw from intergenerational lineages of craft, art, and education to inform and challenge my approaches in conversations with other makers to explore new ways of care and creation.
I graduated from Parsons School of Design in NYC with a BFA in Integrated Design where I studied queer spatial design, looking at methods of reclamation, transformation and uniting existing forms of building with improvised ways of making to expand possibilities. As a bilingual individual and French-American dual citizen, I am fascinated with the way art functions as language and a means to communicate.
My robust work experience in research and project management, particularly in the realm of inclusive design, merges with my background in public arts and community events. The results underscore my commitment to problem solving and adaptation guided by shared values. I am deeply interested in the fields of sustainable design, grassroots organizing, skill sharing, biomaterials and horizontal learning. Paired with my identity as a queer and trans maker, I'm able to unite action with empathy, creating spaces where hope is not a concept but breathes and grows.
